Armando Broja has committed his long-term future to Chelsea Football Club after signing a five-year contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until at least the summer of 2026.
The 19-year-old impressed as the Blues beat Peterborough 6-1 on their first pre-season match on Saturday afternoon, and there is a high likelihood he will be part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans for the 2021/22 season.
Broja spent last season on loan in the Eredivisie with Vitesse Arnhem, where he made 34 appearances, scoring 11 goals as they finished fourth.
Vitesse also played in the final of the KNVB Cup, in which they lost to Ajax.
The Albanian international made his senior Chelsea debut in March 2020, coming off the bench in a Premier League encounter with Everton in what was the last match before a full-capacity Stamford Bridge.
He has been at Stamford Bridge since the end of his Under-9 season and has always played as an attacker, scoring goals throughout his rise up the ranks at Cobham.
“I am really excited to be signing a new contract with Chelsea. Having come through the Academy here it was a special moment for me to make my first-team debut last year, before gaining further experience on loan at Vitesse last season,” he said after putting pen to paper.
“I want to build on these foundations and I am really looking forward to progressing and making an impact at Chelsea in the years to come,”
